What were you doing on December 17, 1994?

Evidently that was the exact date of the opening of the First Seal (Revelation 6:1), according to Ronald Weinland, author of “2008 - God’s Final Witness“. Proclaiming himself revealed as one of the two end-times witnesses (Revelation 11:3-13), Weinland summarizes his most recent book:

Although the Church of God has not been accustomed to having a prophet for nearly 1900 years, God made [Weinland] a prophet in 1997. His first book, The Prophesied End-Time (published in mid-2004), is the product of what God has given him concerning prophetic end-time events that have already begun to be fulfilled, events that are occurring exactly as he has written in the book. His latest book, 2008-God’s Final Witness, pinpoints the timing of these end-time events and adds additional information beyond what the first book covered.

2008-God’s Final Witness is a revelation of the Book of Revelation. As Ronald Weinland explains, the apostle John was given the task of recording prophetic events reserved for revelation at this end-time, and he states that he has been given the task of revealing the truth about those things John wrote. As John wrote, God explained to him that the meaning of what he was writing would not be revealed until the time came to unseal the Seven Seals of Revelation, six of which have already been opened.

Unlike The Da Vinci Code or the Left Behind series, which are fiction, 2008-God’s Final Witness is true and reveals hidden secrets that man has not been able to uncover for thousands of years. Of the three major religions of the world who claim belief in the God of Abraham (Islam, Judaism and Christianity), no one has ever known the prophecies that are revealed in this book, which are beginning to unfold even now.

2008-God’s Final Witness reveals the Seven Thunders of the Book of Revelation, which the apostle John was not allowed to record! It also gives more specific end-time prophecies that will sharply increase during the next year and one-half when the final tribulation of this world strikes. That destructive power will quickly cripple world governments and destroy the world economy over a six-month period. The year 2008 is prophesied as pivotal for the end-time.

Ronald Weinland says that 2008 will mark the beginning of the final events that will thrust the world into the great tribulation (last three and one-half years of the end-time), which will usher in World War III, the death of billions, and on the last day of this great tribulation, the return of Jesus Christ.

Are you ready?

As for the title question, I was a few months into my first permanent job after graduating from college earlier that year. My mom was in the last stages of her battle with cancer. I was attending my former girlfriend’s church at the time (she was in Japan, teaching English) and probably rehearsing a brass ensemble piece for Christmas Eve services. Beyond that, it’s all a little fuzzy…

P.S. For those curious, according to Weinland, the Sixth Seal was opened on September 11, 2001.

December 17, 1994? I had just gotten my Wings of Gold a month prior and I decided to take the whole month of December off and travel the Midwest to visit friends and family before I hit my first fleet squadron. I was a date-setting futurist back then, so my eyes were pealed. Nevertheless, I can’t think of any event during that time that resembled the opening of the first seal.

See, ElShaddai? Preterism makes things soooooo much easier in this regard. ;-)

From Weinland’s first book, The Prophesied End-Time (pp.165-167):

Only one man in this modern age was appointed—“set” in the Church of God. That man was Joseph W. Tkach, Sr. He had been given great trust and authority, but he betrayed Jesus Christ in the sermon he gave in Atlanta, Georgia on December 17, 1994. [...] That sermon revealed that he had lifted himself above God by declaring that the Church no longer needed to observe God’s Sabbaths. This prophecy, given by Paul, began to be fulfilled on that Sabbath day when Mr. Tkach gave that infamous sermon. “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” (2 Thessalonians 2:3). [...]

Exactly 40 Sabbaths (to the day and very hour) after Mr. Tkach gave that sermon, he died. This was God’s own declaration. By taking his life, God revealed that Mr. Tkach was indeed the “son of perdition”—“the man of sin.”

It’s a good thing his books are available as free PDF downloads; I can’t imagine spending money on this!

The books are actually free. I’ve had copies of both for quite some time now. I didn’t know that anybody else was even aware of them though.

I have my Google News set to capture news items on things like eschatology and evolution, and I came across Weinland’s books a few weeks ago. Of course, I downloaded his latest book to see if he actually exegeted the scriptures in order to calculate the dates. From what I could tell, there wasn’t much (if any). No calculations either. Just another example of newspaper eschatology.

Oh, yeah … he reminds me of Harold Camping, who wrote 1994?. When the rapture didn’t happen in 1994, he said his calculations were a bit off and revised the rapture date to 1995. A few years back, he wrote a new book, predicting 2011 to be the end of the world. (Interestingly enough, he dated the creation of the world at 11,013 BC. How he got that, I’ve no clue.)

On December 17, 1994, I was in Harare, Zimbabwe examining the contents of the Ark of the Covenant.

And it seems pretty obvious that Hillary and Obama are the fulfillment of the Revelation and her child will usher in the new age. Exciting times!

On December 17, 1994, which fell on a Saturday, I was at a birthday party I organized for my friend Luvián. We were in the 11th grade.

Also, I believe every last word of the Obama Myth and enthusiastically embrace the messianic dimensions of his presidential candidacy. That he’s simply a politician that lies just like the reast and won’t fulfill any of his promises is not the point. The point is that, much like philanderers JFK and MLK, Obama is good for the American Myth (which I also buy), and that is all that matters. ;-)
Anyway, what about the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation? I thought we had agreed on already/not yet? (Heh.)

Jonah Immanu says to: el shaddai edwards

Well you and Mr. Ronald Weinland will within one year’s time by the New Year, 2009 be proven as false prophets believng something fashioned in your own minds as God’s special communication with you two.

No prophecy of scripture can be fulfilled by private interpretation according to my Bible and that is especially what both of you practice. Ronald Weinland
is writing books now which purport that he is a special prophet of God in these end times. I’ve heard such claims ad nauseum and your claims and Mr. Weinland’s are no different.

I’ll tell you how and why I know that you are both false prophets, right now, before 2009 comes:
1.) Mr. Weinland denies that the supernatural event of the pre-tribulation rapture event described by Jesus (Hebrew: Yeshua) in the gospel of Matthew, Chapter 24 verses 40 & 41 and in the gospel of Luke, Chapter 17, verses 34, 35 & 36 and expounded upon by His Apostle Paul in Paul first epistle to the Corinthians, Chapter 15 verses 51 through 57 and in his first epistle to the Thessalonians, Chapter 4 verses 13 through 18. Despite Weinland’s denial of the miraculous refuging event for Yeshua’s faithful, it will some time in the imminent future transpire as prophecied by Yeshua and Paul.
2.) The antichrist will not be known until AFTER the pre-tribulation rapture has occurred so ” E. S. Edwards” or anybody elses claims of knowing future events about the antichrist will be wrong. Claiming knowledge that Hillary or Obama are fulfillment of prophecy from the Book of Revelation is also unsriptural speculation.
3.) Hillary’s daughter, Chelsea (providing that she continues to live in good health for her generation) whether she is a genuine Christian or not might be expected to usher in a new age when the Messiah, Yeshua takes up His title to planet Earth to righteously rule and reign our World for the Millenniam. It all depends upon whether or not Yeshua has SAVED her or how much time she has been allotted in her physical temporal life.

Correct information has been provided from the reliable source of the New Testament/Bible in my book published May 2005, Alienated Planet Earth and the End that will be Coming to Our World (ISBN:141205154) which is available on-line at: trafford.com/04-2823

Weinland’s position that there will not be a rapture of faithful Christians is NOT to be believed over Yeshua’s and Paul’s New Testament teachings quoted in this article. Nonetheless, Weinland is entitled to his aberrant viewpoint as a false prophet inside the various books that he has authored. Let modern history record that the 2008 events that he has predicted to take place will in no way take place as he has predicted. Jonah Immanu says so with full confidence today, March 2, 2008 because God’s word is never wrong. By 2009, Mr. Ron Weinland will be identified and exposed as a false prophet in these end times.

Your career as a reliable author and “servant” of God is now running and kind of short. Thank the Lord. In 2009, your false prophesies will no longer be able to be denied by you or by anybody else forevermore and you will be utterly exposed as a false prophet with no more than the passage of about three-quarters of one earth year. The end of your being able to so boldly prophecy lies with virtual impunity.

I had written to you about your deceptive practices without the courtesy of any answer but it is best to expose you publicly now. When the New Year,
2009 arrives and your predictions have not occurred, I hope that you and authors like you will have learned a valuable lesson to refrain from the dissemination of false and aberrant claims which run completely contrary to Yeshua’s words in His gospels and in Paul’s epistles. In 2009, your books authored to mislead and deceive others will be ended for you.

False prophets do not ever exercise a proper fear of the Lord when undertaking to deceive others. I shall look forward to your imminent exposure as a false prophet at the New Year, 2009.

    WOW!
Jesus Saenz says to Jonah Immanu:

Why do you use the Aramaic name of Jesus but yet use the name of Paul in the English? Why do you even use the Aramaic when the NT was written in Greek?

Jesus Saenz wants to know if it is essential to refer to oneself in the third person.

Jesus Saenz has a hard time remembering December 17, 1994 because of all the glue he sniffed in his formative years. Or was it because of the PCP? Jesus Saenz can’t remember.

The great tribulation and the antichrist are events that have already taken place.

Jonah Immanu says to Jesus Saenz

Jesus, Christ is the Greek language translation of the Lord’s name & title, but it is my personal preference to use the Hebrew/Aramaic anglicized version of His name which is Yeshua, the Messiah.

When referring to the Son of God, it seems appropriate to me to use His Hebrew/Aramaic name
originally given to Him at His birth. This seems to me the best way to address Him out of a proper respect for His most Holy name and because He is the second person of the Diefied Trinity.

Further, Esteban Vázquez says to Mike Beidler that he is a false prophet on account of his preference for Kung Pao chicken over General Tso’s chicken.

Also, Esteban Vázquez wonders if a “diefied Trinity” is one that wasn’t dead before, but now is?

ElShaddai, did you get as many of the wacky crowd viewing this as I did my recent post on the Antichrist? I think you did quite well, but you would have done better by putting the A word in your post title. One of my commenters has Obama as the Antichrist, which fits well with Chelsea Clinton as Messiah. Does that make Hillary the new Virgin Mary? God preserve us!

It was on or about 17th December 1994 that for the one and only time I performed on the stage of the main concert hall in a capital city. It was a church Christmas concert and I was in the choir.

  21. ElShaddai Edwards on March 3rd, 2008 6:30 pm

Did you get as many of the wacky crowd viewing this as I did my recent post on the Antichrist?

Sadly no. There were 75 post views today (there have been 120 total views) and 298 total for the blog, which is a single-day record for me (average is 150-175), but nowhere near your 6000+ hits over the past couple of days! I’m saving my record day for when I announce that I am the Beast. That’ll put a cinch in the preterists’ knickers!

Further, Esteban Vázquez says to Mike Beidler that he is a false prophet on account of his preference for Kung Pao chicken over General Tso’s chicken.

Sadly, Esteban, for as much as he also likes General Tso, ElShaddai must side with Mike on this one. Kung pao chicken with green onions and an extra dash of whole dried peppers is the bomb. Squee! A spicy chicken Pad Thai is a welcome alternative.

    Hi ElShaddai.

Lately, I’ve been hearing of Ron Weinland a lot. But there was a long time when I never heard of him, which is strange, since I grew up in the Armstrong movement. He must have quickly developed a PR machine.

Thank goodness I came across this page. I was reading “2008 - God’s Final Witness” (the free PDF - I wouldn’t have paid money for it!) and I came to the reference to December 17 1994. The date didn’t ring any bells, so I started googling. All I could find was that KLM’s last DC-10 went out of service that day. So I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this Ron guy is nuts…
By the way, did this Jonah Immanu guy actually read what ElShaddai Edwards wrote? Doesn’t sound like it to me!

  31. Jake L on March 29th, 2008 3:22 am

Yes, some of these comments are pretty funny, but ultimately this whole page of comments is extremely sobering!
We got ppl arguing over the usefullness of referring to one’s self in the third person, arguements over the correct usage of Christ’s name, somehow the Clintons, Obama and Kung Pao Chicken find their way into the mix, and in the above there’s a whole expose on correct/incorrect doctrinal issues which forms the “basis” of Jonah Immanu’s reasoning for calling both Weinland and ElShaddai Edwards false prophets. (I agree that Weinland is a false prophet, but ElShaddai Edwards is not prophesying - he’s stating belief in what he’s read and its not hard to get mislead today).
DID EVERYONE MISS THE MOST THUNDEROUS AND SOBERING POINT??? (it hasn’t yet been mentioned)
This man, Weinland, is CLAIMING TO BE ONE OF THE TWO WITNESSES OF REVELATIONS! One of the two most power-enabled prophets the world has yet to have ever seen!

    1) Not once in the bible does any true prophet “pump himself up” to the populous BEFORE going out to accomplish the “great work” set before them by God. Samuel nor Isaiah nor Jeremiah nor ANY of them, not even John the Baptist went forth saying “proclaim the way of ME….!” None of them were known to the people until they were already in full swing acting out their prophetic office as ordered in full humility. “…prepare ye the way of the LORD!” Do you really think one of the two witnesses that will be flashing fire from their mouths to consume their enemies, one that will be calling down all sorts of plagues upon the earth would say (well before that power is even given) “here ‘I’ am and here ‘I’ come, keep an eye open, I’ll be entering the scene soon”?

    2) In Weinland’s recent book “2008…” he makes a great deal about humility - expounding on the fact that the two witnesses will be wearing “sackcloth”, a representation of humility. Yet he’s declaring to the world with pride before he’s even given the power, that he’s one of the two. I don’t see any humility here -

    3) God didn’t say he was going to send his two witnesses to warn “of themselves” before their time. Not to mention their purpose is to warn/prophesy of THE LORD’S coming and all entailed and whatever else God gives them to prophesy. God didn’t say that it would be given them to prophesy “of themselves” and their as yet “unattained” powers but He DID warn of those false prophets who will and do. Scripture makes it clear that these two “unknowns” will “burst” onto the world scene because of the wonders and ‘torments’ they will perform. — We, the rest of the world, will know them BECAUSE of their fruits. Which leads us to ….

    4) Scripture is clear in Revelations ch. 11 that power is given to these two witnesses to consume all enemies, who would try to harm them, with fire from their mouths. This “fruit” seen of their power, and any other facet of it, would make them rapidly known throughout the world shortly after their prophetic calling is put into effect. They will be given the ability to ensure their survival from their enemies for 3 1/2 years to fulfill not only their prophecy but also the prophecies about them.
Food for thought: So what of the time before they’re given their power from God then? Satan certainly knows all this is real - wouldn’t the Lord protect the identities of these two from the world, from mankind under satan’s influence until that time when He draws back the curtain from them and annoints them with power? You can be sure that every attempt at assassination of these two “true” witnesses before their assumption of Holy Power would be made if their identities were made known and broadcast like Weinland is doing. I don’t think Satan or any likeminded minion (including man) need worry or are worried about Weinland

    5) Weinland’s own words in his book were “After all, if I contradict God’s word, then how can I be a prophet”. He defended himself saying on pg. 21 that yes Jesus said that “…no man knows that day or hour…” but that that answer was to his disciples and that it didn’t mean that God wouldn’t reveal the timing of events at a later time. He states on pg. 24 that Jesus Christ has given the “timing” to him and before that states that he knows the exact day of Christ’s return. If that’s the case, doesn’t that contradict God’s word when even in the end-time, still, Jesus said “My coming will be like a theif in the night”? (that part Weinland conveniently left out)

There’s alot more but this is already too lengthy as it is. I just can’t believe no one caught or addressed this issue as important as it is: not just claim-to-fame as prophet but claim-to-fame as prophet/end-time witness of revelations.

People need to wake up and read the black and white and stop squabbling over doctrines. A false prophet is a false prophet no matter what doctrinal “glasses” you see through. Scripture says a prophet can prophesy a myriad of things, but if even JUST ONE of them doesn’t come true, then they are false.

Keep your lamps burning and watch…

I understand everyones sceptism, yet as we are in April 2008, there isn’t long to see if the guy is the real deal. He is giving his book away, both PDF and paper versions, so he seems to be genuine in intent if nothing else. Having read the PDF, I was most bothered by the payment of tithes, which are still said to be important. As Weinland points out, there are thousands of religions and sects, so how can we be sure that God will receive our tithes?
As for his method of revealing himself, a concrete prophecy in advance is probably the best way. How else would he accomplish it? Some conspiracy websites claim that a false second coming is going to be staged, and in this day of special effects most anything is possible.

Something that hasn’t been mentioned is the idea of lucifer appearing as an angel of light, fooling even the elect if it were possible.

    The truth will out

  33. Pastor Matt on April 1st, 2008 2:05 pm

I have read the books and have determined that some of the information is historically useful.

What I find is a rather unstudied person using a form of “general knowledge” that he himself accosts others for using.

Another point; the book of Revelation is singular, not plural. It’s not “revelations”. It is a singular revelation of an anticipated return of Christ.

Weinland also refers to Islam in his latest book; including them in the religious exclusivities of Judaism and Christianity by saying, “If one is true, the others cannot be” (paraphrased). This is untrue of Islam. Mohammad himself declared that revelation (of the personal kind) is progressive in nature. He never disavowed any of his predecessors’ teachings, but instead wrote about Moses, Abraham, and Jesus with great affection.

Mohammad himself said (basically) that to be a good Christian or Jew was to be a good Muslim. In fact, it was a Jew who disclosed the information of the origins of the Arabian peoples to Mohammad. Those origins supposedly came to being through Abraham’s son Ismael. And although it is a local legend, supposedly Abraham and Ishmael built the Kaaba together. Although, some people will claim that this event is historical fact.

Weinland also commands an individual to be an astute student of history, which he obviously, is not.

My biggest problem with Weinland and others like him, are their self-proclaiming affirmations. They speak to readers as though to defy them (as men) is to defy God Himself. Jesus Himself says that many will come in His Name, claiming that the end has come. People will come and say that all “these things” are signs of the end. Jesus makes it very plain that it is not “the end”. When you see earthquakes, signs in the heavens, etc…the end it not yet. Nation will rise up against nation…but still the end it not yet.

Does this mean that certain points Weinland makes are not to be heeded? Of course not. A call to repentance is needed, and humanity does need to turn from its opinions of God to God Himself.

A prophet is never self proclaiming. The minute someone stands up and says they’re a prophet…they just nullified their status. Say what you need to say, let God be the vindicator of truth, and if God raises you up, and lets none of your words fall to the ground, so be it.

In the book of Daniel, there are men in the end times, who are referred to as “men of insight”. These men COULD be, or are in some fashion MAY be related to the 144,000. These men are set in various parts of the world to help believers in the time of great tribulation. According the bible, they posses special skills, and are immune to the attacks of the enemy.

Weinland’s book was a decent read..but I wouldn’t put much stock in an opinion which conditionalizes and mandates its reader to conform to its words.

Test every spirit to see whether it be of God. Those that are of God point people to the source, they don’t claim to be the source. Weinland claims his writings are “truth”, which he inadvertently and perhaps unknowingly positions himself as a type of “Christ”; thus placing himself in the category of “false Christs”. He would have done better to just say what needs to be said without all the insecure, self-justifications.

A rather interesting concern everyone should be aware of is the recent disappearance of the honey bee. Google it.

    Post to my Post:

Page 116, under the heading “The first four trumpets”, a direct quote:

“The first four trumpet blasts will announce four powerfully
destructive events that will bring about the total collapse of
the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia,
New Zealand, and some countries of Western Europe.”
Consequently, people are thrust back into ancient civilization where worship of deities, directly related to sustainable life, is accepted. The gods of Abraham’s time were the gods from the Sumerian and Babylonian pantheon. Gods such as Enki, Enlil, Inanna, and Marduk were worshiped for their seeming ability to sustain life through annual flooding, rain, sunlight, weather, and astrological events. Abram came out of this Zoroastrianistic/Sumerian culture to follow the word of EL.

I don’t desire to give en entire history lesson here, but for someone like Weinland to tout his opinion on a person’s ability to “know their own history”; he sure doesn’t seem to know his own traditional, Christian heritage… that which stemmed from Catholicism, which stemmed from a merger of Judaism and Platonism, which stemmed from Judaism, which stemmed from Kabbalism, which stemmed from Babylonian/Accadian religion, which stemmed from Sumerian and proto-Sumerian polytheistic religion.

I’m not saying that Weinland hasn’t heard from God. Maybe he has. Many of the things he says, I have written in my own personal notes, books, and blogs for the last 10 years. I do feel a distress as of late, and it’s acute…like child birthing pains. I’ve been explaining these things to people for about 4 years now. However, his arguments lack historic validity.

We speak from the knowledge we have, and if the knowledge we posses is faulty, the message will in turn be faulty. His prophecy is vague, and justifiably so. Give reasons, give dates, and give facts. It’s easy for me to say, “This year, an important world figure will die a tragic death. If it is so, then I am God’s prophet.” As long as I keep it vague, I can’t fail.

Last post cut off a major portion of what I wrote.

After the first paragraph where I quote page 116, I said “what about Mexico?” Weinland says on Page 118 that Canada is a “brother in prophecy”. However, Mexico is in an alliance with North America and Canada called the North American Union…A movement proposed by President Bush for economic, security, trade, and safety issues. This would directly line up Mexico with the US. However, Weinland says nothing about Mexico. He is also very vague about the “some countries of Western Europe”. Which countries??? Is this how prophecy is perpetrated now, in generalistics?

I also gave the reason for the 2nd trumpet description, which Weinland does not.

Scientists have been saying for years that the earth is due to be hit by a meteor. Several years back, a meteor the size of a large building passed between the moon and the earth. For a meteor the size of a mountain (like the one mentioned in Revelation) would likely go unnoticed by the general public. NASA would surely not release this information to the public for fear of creating a panic.

However, a meteor of this size, striking the ocean (like the comet fragment that just struck Jupiter a few years ago) would undoubtedly create a “Red Tide” effect.

This phenomenon is widely known to surfers of the California coastline. Because of the pollutants of humans, dumped into the ocean, plankton are killed off by the millions. This effect is called Red Tide. The combination of krill and plankton killed in a meteor strike would in fact cause a mass red tide. A blood-like effect on the oceans.

God does not need to directly kill people to get his point across, as Weinland seems to think. God always takes the route of mercy, thus allowing for maximum time to repent.

The best route to accomplish a goal of global repentance might constitute eliminating the pseudo source of life. Mankind is the most arrogant of all species. We take life for granted, and have bowed the knee to wealth instead. We value wealth, not life. We have sacrificed life on the altar of Mammon. Nature has been credited with a “god-like” sort of sustaining ability. Remove the secondary sustainer, and people are thrust back into the time when worship of the “flood gods” was not only deemed acceptable, but a way of life.

Then the article continues on with “Consequently….” in the second paragraph.

    Last commentary, then I’m done… I’ve been re-reading the 2008 book as I’m writing.

This book says nothing. It’s a running commentary on the book of Revelation. Weinland gives nothing to readers that the book of Revelation doesn’t already say.

His basis for naming countries is unfounded. He gives no historical claims to his choices, and says nothing that CNN or CSPAN hasn’t covered in the news publicly.

This is the weakest attempt I’ve ever seen at a person claiming to “The One” sent by God.

Hi, ElShaddai. I’m behind the times; just read this post.

I remember seeing Joseph W. Tkach Sr. one time, before the date in question. Mr.Tkach led the Worldwide Church of God after founder Herbert W. Armstrong died. JWT and later his son JWT Jr. led that group out of Mr. Armstrong’s legalistic theology. I imagine that’s what Mr. Weinland is upset about. Armstrong taught such things as these:
–We must believe that Jesus died on a Wednesday.
–We must observe the Jewish festivals and dietary laws.
–The British people are the “lost” 10 tribes of Israel.
–God is a family. We are to become a part of the God-family.

I haven’t read Mr. Weinland’s book, but the title reminds me of the book, “1980’s: Countdown to Armageddon,” by Hal Lindsey.

Yes, Jesus is returning. Yes, we need to be ready. No, Mr. Weinland is not what he claims to be.

Thanks for the context, Jim - it’s amazing how much traffic what I thought was a throw-away post has received.

  40. Brina on May 16th, 2008 3:34 pm

Wow. I need to say that again. Wow. I have not read the first book. I’m currently reading Gods Final Witness. Can I ask a question? What makes you people believe this?
Yes, Mr. Weinland makes some decent points. But this guy is an ego maniac. Read the first chapter of Gods Final Witness, its a shower of all achievements Ronald Weinland. He’s trying to scare people into beliveing his way is the only way.
He refers to people being bias, when in all reality, his book is bias. Directed towards the (and these are not my words) ‘the children of the God Of Abraham’. What about the rest of the world? You’re not being ignorant towards the Buddism? Towards any other religon that doesn’t accept your veiw?
Mr. Weinfeild quoted Proverbs 21:2, saying “every way of man is right in his own eyes.” He’s proving his own point. By not acknowledging any religon that doesn’t accept one all powerful being as his God, your ignoring a large portion of the world.
Mr. Weinland, while I must say, an intersting read, is one opinion amongst the millions he ignored.
Again, though, my opinion is only one, but I feel it is far more accepting then Mr. Weinland. My God also.

  41. ElShaddai Edwards on May 16th, 2008 3:44 pm

Hi, Brina. You asked “What makes you people believe this?” I’m not sure who the question was directed to, but I just wanted to clarify that my original post was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Maybe that didn’t come across as clearly as I could have expressed it, but I don’t hold any of Mr. Weinland’s prophecies up as biblical or valid. I hope that point has been made in the comments.

As for those who have commented, I will have to let them defend themselves.

  42. Brina on May 18th, 2008 8:34 am

    Mr. Edwards,
The comment was not directed at you, or for that matter any one directly. It was simply meant to be sarcastic, not to disrespect anyones veiw. It seems, at least to me, that this book is the kind of thing Charles Manson would have put out to gain followers. Minus the drugs.
Has Ronald Weinland done his homework? Yes. Does he make a few good points? Yes. Yet, I don’t recall any mention in Revelations of one of the prophets to be a pompous, egotistical, self-grandisng(sp?) cult leader. But, that may be one of the things you have to read between the lines for.

  43. ElShaddai Edwards on May 19th, 2008 11:50 pm

It all comes down to motive. And after reading some of the material published on these links, there is certainly plenty of reason to question Mr. Weinland’s motives for publishing his views of the end times.

  44. T Glasovatz on June 11th, 2008 12:30 pm

Thank you all for the insight - I have been reading Mr. Weinland’s most recent book and have wondered what others thought.

  45. GSEP on June 17th, 2008 3:36 pm

Mr. Weinland’s book is a good comedy. I laughed at his self richeousness and demented, erroneous image of himself with dilusions of grandeur. He is obviously extremely confused, trying to make a quick buck by preying on the naieve and uneducated or just plain stupid! Personally I think he is just being used by satan/the devil to decieve others and lead GOD’S people astray. We shoul all pray for him and his followers that GOD may have mercy on them and bring them into his salvation before it is too late for them..

  46. Elizabeth on June 25th, 2008 11:59 am

I have not read through all of the “2008…” however, it makes me think. As does all the bloggers and there opinions. We all can agree (at least I pray we can) there is a God. God is the all mighty. there will be a time when enough is enough and God will do as God will do. No one or nothing can stop it write about it nor deny it. When it happens it happens. We should believe and intrust that when it is your time to stand in front of him. Can you bow your head and ask for forgiveness. If not then I pray for you. If you can then God has blessed you. Do I believe this Weinland is a prophet. Don’t know. He is correct there hasn’t been a prophet or writings for sometime. Why is there so many names such as jews, christian etc. Why do people belive differently? when it comes back to one and that is God is for real I pray I am not here to see the end of time. I pray that God will take me before then. I pray my children and there children will be honest when they are in the present of God. That they bow there heads neel before him and ask for forgiveness. That he might grant them passage. Am I scared. Well sure I am. I am human. however when the time comes I believe that God will be everything I could ever imagine and everything I can’t.

  47. Gunther on June 26th, 2008 6:07 pm

What got me reading Mr Weinland’s book “2008″ was the fact that it was advertised that the US will have become powerless by the fall or end of 2008. Anyone who knows the Scripture knows the the US will not play a major role in any of the events concerning Israel. So this made me curious enough to download his book.
Just a few days ago I was wondering what our nation will look like at the end of this year considering the out-of-control gasoline and food prices. (Am I the only one wondering about this?) Combine this with a possible elected unexperienced Obama for president….
Anyway this combination of thoughts made me reading this book. I’m only on page 60, but I ran into trouble when he explained that the first 5 seals were meant only for the church. If I have the right understanding the first seals are for the whole of humanity.
So, I’ll continue to read and see what else he may to present. Is mankind in troubel? Will there be a judgement? Will the reign of evil cease? Will the believers, the saved, the ones washed in the blood of the Lamb be delivered? YES to all these questions. And who will be my Delivere? Jesus Christ alone!
    God bless you, Gunther.
